The Bread and Roses story so far...

Ethics matter - which is why we put the community before any profit...

Founded in June 2012 as a community interest company, the Bread and Roses is a community pub based in Ebrington street (Plymouth) that cares. Bread and Roses is managed by a collective of directors bringing together different life experiences to inspire the local community and create change. We do this by providing a space for local arts exhibitions, performances and community initiatives with a rotation of talented performers – which is why we re-invest the majority of our profits into staging live music, events, exhibitions and creative offerings for everyone to enjoy.

The former Trafalgar Inn provides a space for the local community to come together in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We want to foster all aspects of the arts in Plymouth to provide an inclusive space for all members of society, whether it’s for community meetings, political campaigns, social activism or a quick pint.

We're just as likely to celebrate gay pride as we are Jamaica Independence Day, because we love a party and everyone is invited.

Come say hello and join our party!
